A Legacy of Intellectual Stewardship
Dr. Myrna Perrier, CEO of the Michelet & Elmire Cherenfant Foundation
Education has always been the cornerstone of our family’s legacy, a conviction deeply rooted in the vision of my parents and the founders of this institution. Growing up, they did not view academic achievement as a mere personal milestone, but as a sacred obligation to our community and a prerequisite for meaningful leadership. This foundational belief was instilled in my siblings and me as a non-negotiable pursuit; we were taught that while circumstances may fluctuate, the intellectual capital and character forged through a rigorous education remain immutable assets. It is this profound sense of purpose—passed down through generations—that has guided my own journey and now defines my commitment as I assume the role of Chief Executive Officer.
As we look toward the future, the MEC Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to democratize this same transformative power for the next generation of scholars. We believe that every student, regardless of their starting point, deserves an academic environment that challenges their intellect and expands their horizons. By bridging the gap between potential and opportunity, we are not only honoring the standard of excellence set by my parents but also ensuring that our scholars are equipped to navigate a complex global landscape with both technical proficiency and moral clarity. I invite you to join us in this vital work as we continue to architect a future where education serves as the ultimate catalyst for systemic progress and individual empowerment.
